Every Metro member has an important role to play, whether featuring at the sharp end of races, helping organise an event, volunteering at runs or cheering other members on in their efforts.

New members are always welcome, of all standards. You should be able to run continuously for a minimum of five miles. The club meets twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

If you are new to running, the best people to help you get started is Jog Scotland. You are still welcome to attend on a Thursday where we can keep a close eye on your training.

Tuesday is at Aberdeen Sports Village on Linksfield Road. We meet in the foyer ready to run at 6.30pm. Each week an experienced member is allocated to look out for new members. Please see the training route page for maps of the routes, there is a charge if you wish to use the changing facilities.

On Thursdays we meet at the Hazlehead Park, Groats Road entrance car park ready to go at 6pm. We do a structured session to help regardless of the standard you are at. There are no changing or showering facilities.

There is a techniques/drills session on a Sunday morning for juniors, at the Duthie Park starting at 10am, we meet in the Riverside Drive side Car Park at 9.50am. There are adults/parents who come along and join in however, providing a more relaxed session for developing technique. There is also a junior session at ASV on a Tuesday evening.

We also organise various trips and training runs during the year, hill runs in the summer and head torch runs in the winter.
